I am so happy to be starting the new year again with all of you. I can see change on the horizon for the club this year. Don't be afraid – good change. One thing I have learned here is that if we don't change as a club, we would either cease to exist, or no longer be an outstanding club. We promise to always try to make the club a better place for as many people as possible. You may see some space being made outside the weight room. We are creating a fabulous outside area with cool new equipment, that will give more floor space. The vanity areas in the family locker rooms will get a facelift, we hope to do some work in the adult men's locker room, and we are working on the self-serve ice station. A new café menu is almost ready, a new pool heater is being built as we speak, and fun club programming ideas are in the works. We are very excited for these changes, which also come from your suggestions in the online surveys!

We have a few reminders for everyone as we start the new year:

  • Please do not touch the screens in the saunas. It messes up the programming, and causes the sauna to turn off which makes it cool down for the people using it after you.
  • Never use the sauna while wet.
  • NEW TENNIS COURT RAIN POLICY: If the courts are wet in the am, all reservations will be cancelled until the 11:00 spot. If you still come in and find that a court is dry enough, you may sign-up for it. This policy is necessary due to unfair pressure put on staff to have particular courts done. We have some cool new squeegees that will make it easier for everyone to get a dry court now too. There are some days that it takes longer than others to dry, and we appreciate your patience.
  • Reminder to please tell the front desk the names of all the players on your tennis court, so we can add those to the online system. This is something we require and have not been good about checking.

Happy New Year!

-Nancy Terrell, General Manager

Employee of the Month - Ni Duran!

Ni is one of our amazing massage therapists, and we love her! You don't want to miss the days she is doing chair massage in the lobby! Ni has lived in the area for eight years and her favorite part about working at ABAC is how friendly everyone is. She says everyone is like family. In her spare time she loves watching movies. Even though she is front and center in the lobby she admits she can sometimes be quite shy, so come say hello to her! Congratulations Ni!
