Programs for babies and children 6 mos. to 6 yrs old.
Infant/Child aquatic survival training at the Avila Bay Athletic Club.
This 4-week program teaches Infants, six to twelve months, to roll over from a face down or submerged position onto their backs to relax, breathe, even when fully clothed in a winter outfit.
Lessons are one-on-one, 4 days a week, 10-15 minutes long depending on the child’s stamina.
After completing Infant Survival, "Aqua-Babies" is designed to promote safe water fun for skilled infants and toddlers. These group classes maximize retention and allow parents and babies to practice the skills learned during private lessons, while they swim, float, sing and play together in the water. 30-minute class with parent participation.
In this 6-week program, Toddlers and children up to 6 years are taught the swim-float-swim- sequence. Students learn to swim full immersion to the steps or side, learn to flip onto their back, breathe, relax, regain strength and continue to swim to safety, even fully clothed. This serves as the foundation for learning correct stroke technique. Lessons are one-on-one, 4 days a week, 10-15 minutes, depending on the child’s stamina.
Aquatic survival training develops skills in the water that will help children to not only have the ability to keep themselves at the surface in the case of an emergency but also to develop a confidence in the pool that will help them to excel in later swimming and aquatics ventures. Our instructor is a highly trained Infant Aquatics specialist.
